What the state says the job is
This is professional supervisory work in the administration of a human services program. An employee in this job supervises staff in analyzing, implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating a human services program or program operations. Work includes supervising staff providing guidance and technical assistance to departmental, county, and health and human services providers with program and fiscal planning; explaining departmental objectives; and coordinating human services program delivery.
Examples of the work
• Supervises and provides guidance on the administration of human services programs and operations. • Supervises the monitoring of contracts to ensure services are consistent with contract language and comply with federal and state regulations, guidelines, and procedures. • Participates in the development of procurement documents. • Participates in the development of program contracts including work statements, program narratives, budget projections, allocation of monies, and amendments. • Serves on evaluation committees to select contracted providers.
Minimum qualifications
• One year as a Human Services Program Specialist (commonwealth title); or • Two years of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of professional experience developing, implementing, or evaluating human services, social services, health care services, or health care insurance programs.
