Sources, method, and what this site does not do
GovPayScales republishes state government pay plans as readable web pages. One page per job classification, showing the pay range the state's own plan authorises, with a link to the source document.
Sources
- California: Pay Scales Section 17: Civil Service Pay Scale by Schematic Code, published by California Department of Human Resources (CalHR).
- Texas: Classification Salary Schedule for Fiscal 2026-27, joined to the State's Position Classification Plan (SAO report 25-701), published by Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and the State Auditor's Office.
Method
Each state's published plan is downloaded and parsed. Figures are copied, never estimated: where a plan prints no fixed rate, this site shows no rate rather than a zero. Where a plan defines alternate ranges, all of them are shown. Annual conversions are arithmetic at a standard full-time basis (12 months, 2,080 hours or 260 days) and are labelled as conversions.
What this site does not do
- It does not publish the salary of any named employee.
- It does not estimate, model or average pay.
- It gives no career, legal or financial advice.
- It is not affiliated with any state government or personnel agency.

If a figure here disagrees with the source document, the source document is right and this site is wrong. Write to contact@govpayscales.com and it will be fixed.
