What the state says the job is
This is highly responsible administrative and professional work in providing support and coordination to the Governor’s Cabinet and Advisory Committee on People with Disabilities. The employee in this job is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Governor’s Cabinet and Advisory Committee in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation recommended to the Governor that aid individuals with disabilities throughout the commonwealth.
Examples of the work
• Provides administrative support and technical assistance to the Governor’s Cabinet and Advisory Committee in the review and evaluation of commonwealth agency programs and services to ensure they are cognizant of the needs of individuals with disabilities. • Serves as the liaison between the Cabinet and Advisory Committee to develop and implement policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation that aid individuals with disabilities. • Collaborates with all state agencies to monitor hiring, retention, and promotion practices of individuals with disabilities to ensure no discriminatory practices.
Minimum qualifications
• Five years of professional experience in human service programs, including three years of planning, developing, and implementing programs and services for individuals with disabilities, and two years of administrative or management experience.
