This is professional and supervisory work in the analysis, development, and implementation of unemployment compensation (UC) benefits or tax service programs for employers and unemployed workers. An employee in this job supervises professional staff responsible for the development, evaluation, and implementation of policies and procedures involving UC benefits, tax services, or workforce development activity to ensure they conform to all applicable legislation, regulations, rules, and guidelines. Work involves overseeing the resolution of operational and programmatic problems to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, and service delivery.
Examples of the work
• Oversees the resolution of complex UC claims, delivery of technical assistance, and analysis of statistical data involving UC benefits or tax services. • Oversees UC system research in the areas of UC benefits, workforce development, and tax services to ensure conformity with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. • Evaluates automated processes and systems to ensure compliance with guidelines; and recommends enhancements, conducts system testing, and troubleshoots issues with Information Technology staff.
