This is responsible administrative work directing the technical oversight of operational and clinical activities for state mental health facilities operated by the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS). The employee in this job coordinates and directs the technical review and evaluation of administrative, operational, and clinical activities for state mental health facilities. Work involves providing consultation to facility directors and managers and developing policies, regulations, and standards that govern administrative and operational programs.
Examples of the work
• Provides consultation and technical assistance to facility directors, department heads, program managers, and other officials regarding facility needs and recommends improved methods, standards, and procedures. • Advises OMHSAS leadership on methodologies to ensure individuals in Pennsylvania’s behavioral health system are served appropriately by identifying opportunities for transformation and improvement in administrative, operational, and clinical areas and advising OMHSAS executive staff when additional resources are needed, such as information technology upgrades and staffing enhancements.
Minimum qualifications
• Six years of professional administrative experience that includes three years of managerial experience in a state-operated mental health facility or direct care facility, and a bachelor's degree; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of managerial experience in a state-operated mental health facility or direct care facility.
