What the state says the job is
This is professional and administrative work directing the statewide guardianship program in the Department of Human Services. The employee in this job plans, organizes and directs, through subordinate managers and supervisors, the operation and continuing development of a statewide program providing financial management and protection services, in accordance with the Vecchione Consent Decree, for individuals in state facilities or community placement settings. Work involves determining individual and overall program needs, goals and objectives and proposing changes in program planning and direction.
Examples of the work
Plans, organizes and directs the statewide guardianship program. Oversees the implementation and operation of financial management service systems for individuals in state facilities or community placement settings. Reviews, analyzes and evaluates program objectives, policies, and operations. Recommends the establishment or modification of policies and procedures to facilitate department objectives and increase efficiencies. Reviews and interprets federal and state regulations and court decisions as they relate to facility guardianship program activities.
Minimum qualifications
Two years of professional experience managing financial records and three years of supervisory experience managing client funds in a social services setting; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes three years of supervisory experience managing client funds in a social services setting.
