This is highly responsible administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing the Department of Education’s data collection, data analysis, and data quality programs. The employee in this job directs statewide programs involving the collection, analysis, reporting, presentation, security, and quality assurance of education-related data. Work involves integrating the Department’s education statistics and data quality programs with their supporting information technology resources to meet federal and state mandates for collecting and reporting education data. Work includes developing, implementing, and enforcing statewide data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the validity, security, and appropriate use of student data within the Department, local education agencies, and institutions of higher education.
Examples of the work
Manages staff engaged in statewide data quality and data analysis functions for the Department of Education. Serves as project manager for the planning, development, implementation, operation, enhancement, and performance tuning of enterprise data management systems. Directs the planning, collection, analysis, and presentation of education- related data and statistics. Directs the planning, organization, validation, and transmittal of all federally mandated data collections. Develops, implements, and enforces statewide policies and guidelines involving education-related data quality and data security for the Department, local education agencies, and institutions of higher education.
Minimum qualifications
Two years of professional supervisory and administrative experience developing, operating, and maintaining enterprise data management systems; or collecting, validating, analyzing, and extracting enterprise data.
