What the state says the job is
This is highly responsible administrative and professional work in managing the commonwealth’s information technology (IT) enterprise architecture and the governance and strategic planning processes. The employee in this job directs the development, coordination, and implementation of the commonwealth’s enterprise architecture framework and the associated policies and standards; directs the development and execution of the strategic planning process at the enterprise and agency levels; and directs the design, support, and maintenance of the enterprise IT governance structure.
Examples of the work
• Directs the development and implementation of enterprise architecture designs, policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for commonwealth IT systems and resources. • Ensures that all enterprise architecture designs, project plans and proposals, technology roadmaps, and IT procurements are consistent with the commonwealth’s IT standards and strategic direction. • Develops processes and standards for agency IT strategic planning and advises OIT and agency IT managers on effective planning strategies. • Recommends changes to the commonwealth’s IT governance structure and facilitates the implementation of changes.
Minimum qualifications
• Seven years of professional IT experience, including three years of senior consultative or management experience in enterprise architecture, and a bachelor’s degree; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes three years of senior consultative or management experience in enterprise architecture.
