What the state says the job is
This is advanced professional legal work in the conduct of hearings and the preparation and issuance of decisions on cases filed with the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. Employees in this class conduct hearings and issue decisions arising in unfair labor practice charges and in petitions for representation, decertification, and unit clarification pursuant to the Labor Relations Act, the Public Employee Relations Act, and Act 111 of 1968. Work includes the preparation and issuance of orders granting or denying relief. Work is differentiated from the next lower level by the complexity and difficulty of the issues presented which frequently lack clear precedent or cases on-point and by the contentious nature of the parties involved.
