What the state says the job is
This is advanced professional educational and administrative work in the planning, development, implementation, improvement and evaluation of higher education or teacher preparation programs within the Commonwealth. An employee in this job is responsible for performing advanced professional work in providing educational advisory and program review services to ensure quality higher education or teacher preparation programs and services. Duties involve the development and improvement of new or expanded programs and implementation of new theories and research findings in institutional programs and services.
Examples of the work
Provides leadership in the provision of advisory and consultative assistance to colleges and universities in the development, improvement, or expansion of programs and services and implementation of new theories and research findings. Plans, develops and revises program approval or evaluation criteria and standards for higher education institutions. Plans and coordinates the conduct of program approval reviews of current or proposed programs at higher education institutions; reviews team reports; and recommends the acceptance or rejection of findings.
Minimum qualifications
One year as a Higher Education Associate 1 in the parenthetical; or Four years of professional education experience, including two years in higher education for the Higher Education parenthetical and two years in basic education for the Teacher Education parenthetical and a master's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional education experience including two years in higher education for the Higher Education parenthetical and two years in basic education for the Teacher Education parenthetical.
