What the state says the job is
This is professional work in the analysis, interpretation, implementation, improvement, and reporting of commonwealth public health programs, regulations, policies, procedures, and data. An employee in this job performs a variety of activities in public health program administration including interpreting and communicating policies and procedures; collecting program data to measure performance and identify needs; and developing and presenting educational and outreach materials. Work involves providing guidance and technical assistance to service providers in program and fiscal planning, interpretation of program requirements, and coordination of program delivery.
Examples of the work
• Gathers, analyzes, measures, and interprets health data. • Monitors program budget and financing. • Drafts program funding applications and narrative reports. • Communicates program policies and standards, reporting, and data requirements of public health programs to contracted entities or service providers. • Participates in drafting or revising guidelines, rules, regulations, procedures, and protocols governing the operation of a public health program. • Conducts evaluations of contracted providers to determine if they are meeting deliverables in accordance with contract specifications.
Minimum qualifications
• One year as a Public Health Program Associate 1 (commonwealth title); or • A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
