This is technical and administrative work in directing physical plant maintenance and heating/utility plant operations at a Commonwealth correctional facility. An employee in this class plans, organizes and directs all physical plant maintenance, repair and heating/utility plant operations at a state correctional facility with a design capacity of up to 999 cells. Work involves planning and directing the acquisition and distribution of fiscal, material and manpower resources to provide for preventive, operational and emergency physical plant and heating/utility plant maintenance and repair.
Examples of the work
Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates, a combination of such facility maintenance care functions as building maintenance, groundskeeping, housekeeping, vehicle, and heating/utility plant maintenance and operations at a state correctional facility with a design capacity of up to 999 cells or a similar facility. Minimum qualifications
One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1; or Two years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor; or Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including three years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
